I love these old machines so much.
My most prized possession is the Royal manual my grandfather used when he was in medical school in the 1930s (and his father used before him). Beautiful old things always have such amazing stories, and when they're beautiful old things that were used to create stories and write the papers that built the foundation for careers and lives... in my mind, that makes them even better.

Every now and then, I write a letter or type up the final draft of a short story on my Royal. The knowledge of where that typewriter has been, and all the hands that have touched it before mine, makes such a simple act so, so special.
