Crooked in a straight world by scottjamesprebble Crooked in a straight world by scottjamesprebble
Crooked in a straight world by Scott James Prebble

Description

It's nice not to be the same as everyone else.

Muse

A wonderful tap that took the hard path to life and decided to be bent rather than straight.

Looks almost organic. Like a long stem of a white mushroom or somesuch.

i love the dramatic lighting. i had to full view to see what it was. i still don't understand what a "tap" is though. don't think they have those around where i am. i can't tell if it's daytime or nighttime... the lighting is just bizarre with the flash in the foreground and the sky so dark in the background, but you can still see the clouds.

It was shot at lunchtime so it's certainly daytime, I just added mood by using my flash to highlight the tap and darken the background, it worked I think.

A Tap is what water comes from, I guess you guys call them faucet's or something.

LOL... oh, i thought it was something organic like a tree or root that you put a spigget on. that's what it looked like in the photo anyway. i was thrown off by how you said it "decided" to bend. i believe a tree would decide, but something like a metal rod would not. i'm way overthinking this.

it's a cool photo! :D there

The tap never attempts to be anything that it isn't... it is removed from a state of ego that would otherwise raise challenge to its uniqueness. Without appreciation for the continued simplicity of its functionality.

I thought this was a tree at first, and it reminded of how people put those stupid straightening things on trees... My uncle owns this now abandoned military academy with all of this land. And for some odd reason, the tree's back there grew so crooked, but it's beautiful. It looks very Lewis Carroll.

... random story, done. lol
