Art is Everywhere By Scott James Prebble

Description

You just need to look.

This is some awesome old wrought iron on a building in Melbourne, it caught my eye with the amount of work and love that must have gone into it's creation.

From the smaller view, I thought it was part of a musical instrument... Beautiful image, Scott.

It's a great shot - everything about it is great. What's kind of sad is that the art of so many eras was echoed in the architecture of the day - art deco, gothic... and that, in those instances in particular, they also evoked something of the mood of the times. So, in fifty years from now, what are they going to say about our glass and concrete monoliths thrown together by the lowest bidder? Then again, I guess that is a pretty accurate representation of the mood of our current society.

Me too, but I decided that it isn't all it's cracked up to be and you always have to compromise, so I decided to be an artist instead (and remain poor.....;) )

yeah, the fact that you had to go to Uni for about 7 years and then it's not guaranteed that you'll get anything of yours built turned me off the idea
